Carolina Woods & Water Deer Harvest Rules:

  • Every deer hunter in North Carolina is allowed to harvest 6 deer. (No more than 2 BUCKS).
  • You are allowed to harvest 2 whitetail deer per day. (You can shoot 2 Bucks, 2 Does, or 1 Buck and 1 Doe).
  • A point is determined by the length of at least one-inch from base to tip.
  • The harvest of NC whitetail bucks can be in any order. If a deer hunter takes a nice buck, it would be characteristic of true sportsman to let the younger bucks live, so they can grow to be NICE North Carolina whitetail bucks!
  • You will be deer hunting management land (8 Point or better) 2 days out of your North Carolina deer hunting trip. There will be a fine of $300 assessed for shooting an illegal deer on management land. You will be deer hunting 2 days on non-management land where an illegal buck carries a fine of $150. The standards for the farm that you are deer hunting on will be explained to you by your deer hunting guide. YOU WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TYPE OF FARM YOU ARE ON!!!
  • A fine of $75 and the loss of 1 NC whitetail buck will be assessed for a button buck on deer management property. Please look as closely as you can at what you are shooting. This is to protect the future of our NC whitetail deer herd. There will be no penalty for button bucks on non-management property. We just ask that you try NOT to shoot them.
  • Carolina Woods & Water also has a super management deer property, a buck must be 120" or better to harvest the animal. There will be a fine of $500 assessed for shooting an illegal buck on super management. NO deer hunter is required to hunt this property if they choose not to. It is available for those deer hunters who wish to hunt it.
  • Once 2 North Carolina bucks have been taken by a deer hunter, you are no longer allowed to hunt deer management property. No Exceptions.
  • ALL FINES WILL BE PAID TO Carolina Woods & Water BEFORE YOU DEER HUNT AGAIN. NO EXCEPTIONS. CAROLINA WOODS & WATER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO END YOUR DEER HUNT AT ANY TIME WITHOUT REFUND, IN THE EVENT THAT THESE DEER HUNTING RULES ARE VIOLATED.
